An interaction and discussion program was held in Dhangadhi focusing on strengthening collaboration between provincial and local governments, with emphasis on policies, programs, and budgeting. The event was organized by the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Sudurpashchim Province with support from PLGSP. The objective of the program was primarily to foster constructive dialogue on improving coordination among the three tiers of government and gather district-level inputs on upcoming provincial policy and budgeting processes.

Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah; Mayors and Chairpersons from all 88 local levels of Sudurpashchim Province, DCC Chiefs from all 9 districts, Provincial Assembly Members, Ministers, Secretaries, and sector experts.

Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah emphasized the importance of fostering strong coordination and mutual recognition among the three tiers of government to enhance the effectiveness of federalism. Through group discussions, participants constructively reflected on opportunities to strengthen intergovernmental collaboration and improve governance. They highlighted the value of working within constitutional mandates, promoting transparency, and designing provincial plans that are responsive to people's needs. Participants also recommended empowering District Coordination Committees with a formal role in evaluating development projects, supported by appropriate legal frameworks.

Suggestion papers from MuAN, NARMIN, and ADDCN were submitted to the CM. Recommendations will inform upcoming policies and budget plans, with a focus on institutional coordination, legal frameworks, and good governance.
