PLGSP Lumbini Province organized a two-day Gender-Responsive Budgeting (GRB) training for officials from district-level offices in Rupandehi, Kapilbastu, and Nawalparasi districts. The main objective of this training was to enhance the capacity of employees from provincial ministries and their subordinate bodies regarding gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) and GRB. The specific objectives of the training were as follows:

  • To orient participants on the concept, importance, and relevance of gender equality and social inclusion (GESI).
  • To familiarize participants with the policy provisions, necessity, and relevance of gender-responsive budgeting (GRB).
  • To make the budgets and programs of provincial ministries and their subordinate bodies gender-responsive.
  • To prepare and implement gender-responsive budgets within the provincial government.
  • To increase governmental accountability and transparency for gender equality, social inclusion, and women's empowerment.

This training is a significant step towards building a more inclusive and gender-responsive governance framework in Lumbini Province.
