An orientation programme on the Government Integrated Office Management System (GIOMS) and Government Integrated Workforce Management System (GIWMS) was conducted for provincial staff of the Government of Karnali Province with the active participation of the Principal Secretary, Province Secretaries, and government officials from the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers (OCMCM), KPTA, and other concerned agencies. During the session, the Principal Secretary raised several important queries and suggestions regarding the functionality and policy aspects of GIOMS, the cost implications of digital signature devices, and the need for legal and administrative reforms related to work-from-home arrangements during holidays. The programme served as an interactive platform for discussion and feedback on strengthening digital governance systems and improving user experience for government officials.
Concluding today’s session, the Principal Secretary emphasized the possibility of implementing the system from the next fiscal year and consulted with concerned authorities regarding the necessary preparations for the procurement of digital signature devices, as well as ensuring the completion of required training for all remaining offices within the current fiscal year. A total of 22 participants attended the orientation programme, including 7 female participants.
