Karnali Province Government, Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers (OCMCM), Provincial and Local Government Strengthening Programme (PLGSP), Provincial Program Support Unit (PPSU), Karnali Province organized a high-level Coordination Meeting with Development Partners working across Karnali Province with more than 30 representatives, bringing together UN Agencies, bilateral development partners, and INGOs to strengthen partnership, coordination, and results-focused collaboration for the sustainable development of Karnali. The meeting was also organized considering upcoming FY provincial planning process and program integration.
The meeting was chaired by the Honorable Chief Minister with the participation of the Principal Secretary, Province Secretaries, Under Secretaries, and senior government officials. During the event, 7 UN Agencies and 16 INGOs/Bilateral Agencies presented their ongoing programs and projects, working areas, highlighting key achievements, lessons learned, challenges, and potential areas of collaboration with the Provincial Government.
The interaction session also served as an important platform for open discussion on provincial and local development priorities, coordination mechanisms, service delivery, and integrated development approaches in Karnali.
The Principal Secretary, Mr. Birendra Kumar Yadav expressed interest in the ongoing working areas and geographical presence of Development Partners (DPs) in Karnali Province and shared the concept of developing a Karnali DP Portal to digitally showcase project locations, areas of intervention, and progress updates across the province.
Honorable Chief Minister emphasized the need for integrated and thematic-focused interventions in close coordination with provincial line ministries to maximize development impact and avoid duplication of efforts. He also expressed the Provincial Government’s commitment to facilitating necessary legal and procedural coordination with local and federal governments through internal mechanisms to support development partners’ effective implementation. Provincial Government appreciated DPs for continued partnership and contributions of development partners toward inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development in Karnali Province.
