PLGSP Baseline Survey Orientation at Madhesh Province

The Provincial and Local Governance Strengthening Programme (PLGSP) Madhesh Province successfully conducted an online orientation session for local government staff who will be supporting the baseline data collection process of the programme on 2nd January 2026. Representatives from more than 90 local governments participated in the session this shows the  strong bonding and commitment of local level towards. 
The session aimed to build a common understanding among participants about the baseline survey and its importance in strengthening evidence based local governance. Local government staff play a critical role in this process, as the quality of data collected directly affects planning, monitoring, and decision-making.
Following key areas were covered during the orientation:
•    The purpose and significance of the PLGSP baseline survey
•    How survey questions are linked to PLGSP Results Framework indicators
•    Roles and responsibilities of local government staff during data collection
•    A clear explanation of each questionnaire item to ensure consistent understanding
•    Practical guidance on using SurveyMonkey, the official digital platform for data collection
The baseline survey is a crucial step in establishing reliable reference data to measure progress over time. It will support informed decision-making and strengthen monitoring, learning, and reporting across the programme.
PLGSP looks forward to a smooth data collection phase and meaningful insights that will contribute to stronger, more responsive, and accountable local governance in Madhesh Province.
