To enhance the capacity of provincial accounting staff on the use of the Nepal Audit Management System (NAMS) for improved audit planning, execution, and follow-up, PLGSP in Madhesh Province organized two one-day orientation programs on the Nepal Audit Management System (NAMS). The orientations were organized in technical collaboration with the Office of the Auditor General and in close coordination with the Provincial Treasury Comptroller Office.
Participants: 78 Accounts Officers (6 female) from provincial ministries, commissions, and directorates in Madhesh Province.
Highlights: Participants received hands-on training through presentations, system demos, and case discussions. Over 200 audit irregularities were followed up in NAMS, with nine resolved during the sessions. The event clarified oversight roles and promoted the use of NAMS as a tool for strengthening public financial management.
Next steps: A chat group was created to support continued peer learning and coordination. Future efforts will focus on ongoing capacity building and improved audit tracking through NAMS.
