A three-day orientation programme on the Recruitment Management System (RMS) was organized by the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers (OCMCM), Madhesh Province, under the Provincial and Local Governance Support Programme (PLGSP). The programme aimed to enhance the technical and digital capacities of staff of the Provincial Public Service Commission (PPSC) to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in recruitment-related processes. The orientation emphasized the practical application of office automation tools to strengthen documentation, data management, and reporting systems.
The orientation was delivered in an engaging and hands-on manner, enabling participants to acquire practical skills and a clear understanding of the RMS and its application across the recruitment cycle. More than 30 participants (including 4 female participants) attended the programme, comprising the Honorable Chairperson, Members, Secretary, senior officials, section officers, and support staff of the PPSC. Reflecting the relevance of the intervention, one participant noted, “This training is need-based and very practical. It will significantly reduce time and effort in our daily administrative work.” Such initiatives contribute to strengthening institutional capacity and promoting efficient, transparent, and technology-enabled performance, including a gradual transition toward paperless workflows.
Key contents of the orientation included advanced-level applications of MS Word, MS Excel, and Google Workspace, with a focus on digital collaboration, development of standardized digital templates, and improved data accuracy. The orientation was observed to be effective in expanding the use of digital tools across the PPSC and enhancing staff confidence in managing recruitment-related information digitally. The skills gained through this programme are expected to support the gradual adoption of paperless systems and improve overall operational efficiency.
The orientation directly contributes to PLGSP’s objective of strengthening provincial institutions by building staff capacity, improving service delivery efficiency, and enhancing the credibility and performance of the Provincial Public Service Commission.
