12 JAN 2021: Godavari, Kailali – Third meeting of the Provincial Coordination Council of Sudurpashchim Province, constituted as per Federation, Province and Local Level (Coordination and Interrelation) Act, 2077 (2020), Section 24 , concluded with 5 points commitments and 18 points decisions related to development activities in the province and strengthening the inter-governmental coordination and relations. The event was inaugurated and chaired by Hon. Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta, in kind presence of all hon. Ministers, Council Members (Palikas’ Representatives), Principal Secretary, Chief Attorney, Secretaries and Officers of the province ministries and agencies and the PLGSP/PPIU officials. The Principal Secretary welcomed all participants and highlighted the objectives of council meeting along with a brief update on progress of Sudurpashchim Province. All concerned Secretaries and officials of the ministries and agencies presented the progress and plans of their respective agencies. The council members discussed in detail on issues, challenges and ways forward on various matters (Use and distribution of natural resources, revenue, development activities (education, health, agriculture, irrigation, drinking water, road and electricity), DRR (COVID 19 Special), squatters settlement management, etc.) as well as strengthening the inter-governmental coordination and relations at all three tiers of governments. Following the 18 points decision and 5 points commitments at the meeting, all council members from LGs committed at the meeting that they would share the decisions and commitments with their fellow LGs at districts for effective coordination and implementation. The PLGSP/PPIU extended all necessary arrangement and facilitation support to the Council Secretariat to successfully convene the meeting.
