The training enhanced the leadership capacity of women executive members of local governments. It contributed to strengthen their confidence and supported their effective in decision-making role in local level planning process and local governance, in line with the objective of promoting transformative leadership for social change.
Eight events of the Transformative Development training were conducted for women executive members of LGs in four districts: Saptari, Siraha, Sarlahi, and Rautahat by PRTC/PLGSP. The training programs organized from 15 December 2025 to 3 January 2026. A total of 218 women participated in the training, incorporating 52 percent from Dalit communities.
The three-day training focused on transformative leadership, inclusive local level planning process, roles and responsibilities of local governments, and the federal system of Nepal. Participants discussed decision-making processes, meeting management, and challenges faced by women elected representatives in Local Governments. The sessions also covered gender equality, social inclusion, leadership building, formation and roles of user committees, and public speaking skills. Participants practiced delivering speeches and shared their experiences.
The training encouraged participants to apply their learning in executive meetings and community engagement. It contributed to PLGSP’s goal by strengthening inclusive leadership, improving local governance practices, and empowering women representatives to play an active role in local development and institutional strengthening.
