Two days “Capacity Building Training on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion” (two events) conducted from 15 November to 16 November 2021 at Rubus Hotel, Dhangadhi, and Kailali. Out of 58 participants, seven were male and 51 were female actively participated from local level of Darchula, Baitadi, Bajhang, Bajura and Achham district of sudurpaschim respectively. The main objectives of the training were to develop individual and organizational capacity of vice-chairperson/Sub Mayer and GESI focal person on GESI related issues to contribute to create enabling environment for developing the GESI mainstreaming strategy and GESI Audit including through joint ownership and commitment. The general objectives of this training were to orient the participants about conceptual clarity on gender equality and social inclusion including international, constitutional provision, local level policies initiatives and including importance of GESI mainstreaming strategy and GESI Audit for local level. The training was divided into two i; e the formal session and technical session. The formal session was chaired by Executive Director of PCGG. Hon. Mohan Dev Bista from Planning Commission was invited as a chief Guest who highlighted that the issue of gender equality and social inclusion is the major foundation of social development in Sudurpaschim province. Therefore, the local level elected government and government official has authority to develop GESI related polices, strategy and program as per the value of federalism system. Then the welcome speech was delivered by the Biswadip Beshra, undersecretary /PPM from OCMCM and closing remarks done by Padam Raj Joshi, Executive Director. 

Similarly, Two days “Capacity Building Training on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion” (two events) conducted from 17 November to 18 November 2021 at Hotel Temple Resort, Dhangadhi, and Kailali.Out of 45 participants, 8 were male and 37 were female actively participated from local level of Doti, Dadeldhura, Kailali and Kanchanpur district of sudurpaschim respectively. In this event, Hon Minister, Lal Bahadur Khadka from Ministry of Social Development was the chief gust, who highlighted the recent initiatives taken by Ministry such as education program to reduce child Marriage, COVID vaccine program for people who are above 18 have been approached. In the meantime, he also showed his commitment to cooperate with PCGG to reduce gender inequality and all kinds of discrimination in Sudurpaschim. The welcome and objectives were made by Biswadip Beshra and closing remarks made by Padam Raj Joshi, Executive Director of PCGG who was the Chair of the opening Session. Then, the technical session was followed by presentation.

Finally, the participants raised the issues of gender friendly budget at local, the ownership of the chairperson of local level to allocate the budget and responsibility of GESI focal person has to be cleared.  Finally the participants came up with the action plan to develop the GESI mainstreaming strategy and GESI Audit by March 2021.
