An interaction workshop on “Sharing of Best Practices of Local Levels of Saptari and Siraha Districts of Madhesh Province” has been concluded in Rajbiraj Municipality on 30 November 2023 which was participated by the three tiers of governments representing the Local Governments of Siraha and Saptari districts, Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers (OCMCM) and Ministry of Education and Culture from the Madhesh Province Government, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA) and the National Planning Commission from the Federal Government. The Honorable Minister for the Ministry of Federal Affairs, Ms. Anita Devi was the chief guest of the workshop which was chaired by the Principal Secretary of Madhesh Province Government and the event was participated by a total of 170 participants. The participants also included the Chief of District Coordination Committee of Saptari, Chief Administrative Officer and the Senior Superintendent of Police of Saptari District. 

Thirteen local levels had presented their best practices which included a wide range of areas comprising the disaster management, agricultural library, management of Lumpy Skin disease, low cost bamboo housing for the marginalized population, use of information technology in public service delivery, controlling the encroachment of public property, lease farming, agricultural farming on river banks (Bagar Kheti), fecal sludge management, strengthening of local judiciary committee, early child marriage free local level, strengthening of education sector, and identification and treatment of malnourished children.

The event was organized under the Provincial and Local Governance Support Programme (PLGSP) by the Programme Coordination Unit of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration where the Provincial Programme Implementation Unit of PLGSP in Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Madhesh Province had provided the overall coordination and facilitation support.
