The fourth meeting of the Provincial Coordination Council, which is an intergovernmental coordination mechanism established by the Federation, Province and Local Level (Coordination and Inter-relation) Act-2020 took place in Janakpurdham on 4th August 2023. The Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, which is also the Secretariat for the Provincial Coordination Council, organized the meeting where the Provincial Programme Implementation Unit of the Provincial and Local Governance Support Programme (PLGSP) supported the Secretariat of the Provincial Coordination Council in convening the meeting.
The Provincial Coordination Council is an important forum for strengthening the intergovernmental relations which is chaired by the chief minister and the provincial finance minister, provincial home minister, representatives of local governments from each district, principal secretary and the secretary from the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers are its members.
The meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister (Saroj Kumar Yadav) and attended by the Hon’ble Minister from Ministry of Home Affairs, Communication and Law (Mohammad Samim), the local government representatives nominated by the chief minister in accordance to the law, acting Principal Secretary (Kishor Kumar Chaudhary) and the Secretary of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers (Ram Krishna Pudasaini).
The meeting took place after more than three and half years and the Council members agreed upon to regularize the meeting of this intergovernmental coordination mechanism and discussed upon various intergovernmental issues.
