MoFAGA/ PLGSP successfully conducted "Stakeholder consultation workshop on Inter-Governmental Relations (IGR)" on 19th and 20th May 2023, in Gokarna, kathmandu. The event brought together representatives from the Federal, Province, and Local governments to address the pressing issues surrounding IGR in Nepal's federalism. Over the course of two days, insightful discussions, presentations, and group sessions took place, fostering a constructive environment for dialogue and collaboration.
Representatives from the Office of Prime Minister and Cabinet of Ministers (OPMCM) and the Office of Chief Minister and Cabinet of Ministers (OCMCM) from all seven provinces, via respective presentations, shared their valuable perspectives, highlighting the complexities and opportunities associated with inter-governmental relations, focusing on identifying key challenges and threats to IGR, while emphasizing the importance of resolving disputes to ensure effective governance and public service delivery. We appreciate the input and valuatble time, active engagement and contributions given by all the participants.
The event where Hon. Aman Lal Modi, Minister of MoFAGA was chief guest, was chaired by respected secretary Krishna Hari Pushkar, and faciliatated by Ex. Chief Justice Hon. Kalyan Shreshta. The workshop served as a platform for stakeholders to engage into and propose potential solutions and suggest the role of the Province and Local Governance Support Program (PLGSP) and Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration in fostering a conducive environment for IGR implemenation and making a stronger inter-governmental relations in Nepal's federal system.
